Nikon will stop making most film cameras

NEW YORK (AP) -- Nikon Corp., which helped popularize the 35mm camera five decades ago, will stop making most of its film cameras to concentrate on digital models.

The Japanese company said it wanted to focus on "business categories that continue to demonstrate the strongest growth" as film cameras sales keep shrinking.

Nikon will discontinue seven film-camera models, leaving in production only the current top-line model, the F6, and a low-end manual-focus model, the FM10.

So I was very satisfied with the exhibition I had at English Avenue Yards. Tim gave me a great opportunity that I appreciate very much. I think the photos looked great all framed and hung up. Of course it was a commercial project turned into art, so the fact that it originated as a commercial project still remained. However, I still think I got some very nice pieces out of it.

There was a good flow of people coming in and out. Other artists also displayed their work. Keating Metal Works had sculptures, Mary Stanley showed some of her artists work and there was an auction for the items of the late Tony Smith. It was of course also the opening/open house of English Avenue Yards. I met some nice people ranging from artists, musicians and land/building developers, in other words a nice mix of people.

The show will stay up for a while (until further notice) so can always be looked at.

On Friday, October 21st, I have a photography exhibition at English Avenue Yards. The project started because Patrick and I were approached by Tim Holdroyd from City Realty to build a website and do photography for Tim's new development: an artist studio community on the West side called English Avenue Yards. After shooting the property Tim was so happy with the results that he asked me to hang up the images for an exhibition at English Avenue Yards. So here we are, the photographs are all hung up in the space and I'm very pleased with how everything looks.
